Yala is the southernmost province of Thailand and the capital of the province’s name is same; Yala. The province has a unique mixture of cultural heritage of several groups: Thai, Chinese, and Malay.
The provincial and district capital, it is 137 kilometres by road southeast of Hat Yai. The eastern part of the city is part of the neighboring tambon of Sateng Nok.
The city centre of Yala has systematic town planning and is one of the educational centres of the south as well.
