Ayutthaya, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, is a historic capital and modern city in Thailand. Founded around 1350, Ayutthaya became the second capital of Siam after Sukhothai. Ayutthaya was destroyed by the Burmese within the 18th century.
In 1991, part of Ayutthaya Historical Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under standards III. The total area of the World Heritage property is 289 ha.
